Dance as care & connection
Beyond the concert stage, Sanjib brings the form into care homes, classrooms, community organisations, and sacred spaces — offered as commissionable programmes, each adapted to the people in the room.
70+ community & institutional projects and counting.
“The lamp does not argue with the darkness. It simply burns. So dances the devotee.”
Meditative movement for elders
Sanjib leads meditative Indian movement programmes in care homes and senior communities, including the “Dance on Chair” work at Judson Manor and “Meditative Movements” at Priya Living — adapting the expressive heart of the form to every body, seated or standing.
Less performance than practice: breath, rhythm, and gesture as a gentle restoration of presence, memory, and joy.

Reaching communities left out of the hall
In partnership with organisations and NGOs, Sanjib brings dance to people the concert hall rarely reaches — communities serving the visually impaired, individuals with autism (ASD), and children in need, including street children and orphanages.
From the Rainey Institute to dance-theatre for inner-city and visually-impaired children, the art is offered as a language of dignity, healing, and human connection.

Movement as care
Drawing on decades of work with elders, neurodivergent participants, and children with disabilities, Sanjib designs movement sessions as therapeutic practice — using rhythm, breath, and expressive gesture to support attention, regulation, and connection.
Offered to clinics, care teams, and special-education settings as a structured, adaptable programme rather than a one-off performance.

Programmes range from single lecture-demonstrations that introduce Manipuri dance and the pung to semester residencies in performance research and cross-cultural collaboration.

Manipuri dance was born in the temple courtyard as an offering. Sanjib performs and leads programmes for temples and religious centers, carrying the ras lila of Radha and Krishna back to the settings its grammar was shaped for.

Beyond residencies, Sanjib conducts standalone workshops and lecture-demonstrations for festivals, cultural organisations, and community groups — an accessible way to meet the form, its rhythms, and its stories in a single session.
